ALI : Convener At International Cultural Exchange World Organisation

Ali was involved with the activities of International Cultural Exchange World Organisation as a Convener at 28 Harley Street, West London.

Lady Mountbatten:

The late Countess Mountbatten was the first President of International Cultural Exchange. Her generous help in the early days of this organisation was of great assistance to the founder, Dr. R.U. Hingorani, the internationally eminent eye surgeon.

Lady Mountbatten wrote at the time: ''It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the invitation to become President of the International Cultural Exchange, for I believe that voluntary and official bodies of this kind can do an enormous amount of good in promoting understanding and friendship between the people of East and West.

Above all I am sure that the exchange and appreciation of our separate national cultures will lead to a greater awarness of the one world in which we all live.

I hope that your good work will receive the support it deserves, and that form it will grow increasing and sincere social contacts and personal friendship between members of the many nationalities resident in London''.
